Enlightened thinkers of the Renaissance looked upon the circle and the sphere as very special artistic forms, reminiscent of the universe itself. Creating a composition in the form of a circle was considered the height of artistic skill.

The works of Leonid Bodnia revive the lost Renaissance tradition of the church medallion [drawings]. The artist has developed a series of depictions of the Christian saints, using the unique techniques of the old masters.
