St. Brigid

Saint Brigid is the patron of nuns, babies, cattle, and fugitives. She founded numerous convents throughout Ireland and founded the first double monastery holding brothers and sisters. St. Brigid, according to legend, prayed to have her beauty removed from her so that no man would try to marry her and her beauty returned after her first vows. St. Brigid made the Brigid Cross during the death of her father which resulted in his conversion. Saint Brigid's feast day is February 1st.
