The Wild Goose Studio is located in Kinsale Co. Cork, Ireland and was founded in 1969 by co-founders Brian Scott-McCarthy and Kathleen Smyth. In it's over 40 years of business, it has perfected the art of creating cold cast iron or bronze sculptures and plaques. The Studio partners with prominent Irish artists to recreate pieces of Irish history and culture, including Celtic Crosses, Irish statues, Irish blessings, Irish proverbs, and more. As their company information states, "By drawing on mythology, symbols, stories, images and poetry, we access the richness of shared memory and show it in visual design to inspire the imagination."

Each piece of artwork is made of a resin and ceramic core. Around this core is a highly polished iron or bronze shell. This process is all done by hand, for the highest quality finish. Unlike other bronze or iron pieces, ones from Wild Goose Studio are lightweight and easy to handle. Bronze pieces can be used outdoors and may turn green through exposure to the elements. Cast iron pieces should not be placed outside because they may rust.
